An energy-efficient ICF home

Home buyers want a home that’s not only beautiful, but built with solid, high quality construction that also is easy on the environment. They want greater comfort and security, lower energy bills and less maintenance. ICF homes meet those needs.

This ICF home built in 2009 by Vogue Construction of Wayzata, Minnesota is 80.7% more efficient than the state’s energy efficiency standards of 2009. ICF homes have superior insulation, air tightness, and thermal mass.

Homeowners say that their ICF homes are very quiet and comfortable. Less than 1/3 as much sound passes through ICF walls as with ordinary frame walls. The structure creates a much more even temperature through the day and night. Finally, the rigidity of the concrete construction reduces shifting and vibrating so concrete homes survive hurricanes and earthquakes far better than standard homes.

ICF construction also can be used for apartments, assisted living facilities, hotels, restaurants, hospitals, swimming pools, retaining walls and more.
