| ARM Legislative Breakfast Held March 5th | ||||||||||||||||
|
In spite of the weather and hazardous driving conditions, a handful of ARM members attended a Legislative Breakfast on March 5th in St. Paul. Representative Bernie Lieder (DFL - Crookston), Chair of the House Transportation Committee, was one of the honored speakers. Representative Lieder shared information regarding the passing of the Transportation Bill via the veto override and also reminisced about changes in the legislature over the past 20+ years. Edward Garvey, the newly appointed Director of the Minnesota Office of Energy Security, spoke to the group on Climate Change Task Force changes. Climate change legislation will impact ARM members in a significant way as the legislature moves toward reducing green house gas emissions by 2020. In other legislative news, HF3201 was signed into law on Friday, March 7 and the language from last year's vetoed tax bill related to aggregate delivery sales tax was included in this bill. |

ARM has applied to the State of Minnesota for approval for five hours of CEU's for Building Contractors. The seminar is AIA approved. Contact the ARM office at 952.707.1250 with questions.
