Minnesota VOTES YES! Transportation Amendment Passes | ||||||||||||
|
Minnesotans want better roads as was evidenced in the November 7th election. The Constitutional Amendment (Transportation) that will dedicate revenue from a tax on the sale of new and used motor vehicles over a five-year period, so that after June 30, 2011, all of the revenue is dedicated at least 40 percent for public transit assistance and not more than 60 percent for highway purposes passed by a wide margin. Every House district in the metro voted yes. When splitting Greater Minnesota into three areas, in the southern 20 districts, 19 voted yes. In the central 20 districts, 15 voted yes. In the northern 20 districts, eight of 20 voted yes. ARM congratulates and thanks all of its members who helped see this important amendment pass. Your efforts will be a boon to both our State and our industry in the years to come. Click Here to View Constitutional Amendment Results |

Sustainable development, or green building, although commanding only 2% of both new residential and commercial construction currently, will have a major impact on the concrete construction industry in the coming decade, says Shepherd. |
