Pervious Concrete Projects

City of Bloomington

There’s a new pervious concrete pavement in front of the City of Bloomington’s public works facility. The city chose the material to provide a durable parking surface but also to serve as a protective drainage system; it wanted to meet the challenging requirements of stormwater management. A pervious admixture from Grace,V-MAR® VSC500, was used.

City of Shoreview

Video by Mark Maloney, Shoreview

In 2009, the City of Shoreview, Minnesota, used pervious concrete to repave the streets of its Woodbridge neighborhood. This project is, as of April, 2010, the largest public roadway commitment to pervious concrete in North America. The city engineer created a YouTube video demonstrating how water is quickly absorbed by pervious concrete.
