Concrete Homes

Concrete homes fit in with their surroundings while their benefits stand out!

While concrete once made limited appearances at residential construction sites in the form of foundations and driveways, it’s now playing a leading role in new home construction. A home built with concrete is strong, energy efficient, and resists fire, mold, wind, and noise better than wood frame homes. And concrete homes no longer look like bomb shelters – they can be built to look like any other home.

Removable forms, concrete blocks, and Insulating Concrete Forms (ICFs) have been used to construct concrete homes, but ICFs are becoming increasingly popular due to the design flexibility and value-added benefit they bring to home construction. Made of interlocking polystyrene panels connected by steel or plastic rods, ICFs are stacked like lego blocks to create walls.  Concrete is poured between the forms, which are left in place to create a superinsulated wall inside and out.

Concrete homes have a wide range of benefits. Read more about them by clicking on the links below.
